2020年11月，畜牧兽医系张洁教授在国际期刊《Medicinal Research Reviews》（医学研究综述，医学一区，IF 9.79）以第一作者身份发表了题为“Metabolites of microbiota response to tryptophan and intestinal mucosal immunity: A therapeutic target to control intestinal inflammation”的文章。

文章主要论述了肠道微生物的色氨酸代谢产物对肠粘膜免疫的影响，探讨了控制肠道炎症的治疗靶点。在北京市特色高水平骨干专业群项目-动物医学专业群的建设工作中，该研究成果为研究开发相关营养调控肠道健康的技术提供了基础的理论依据。
